“ Iron Griz is our "go to" place to eat for a quick delicious meal. Their Blackened Chicken Salad is the BEST! I love blackened chicken but my husband does not. They are wonderful about replacing the blacked chicken with grilled chicken. He loves this salad as well! When we aren't getting the salad we love their Shrimp and Grits. Perfectly cooked shrimp with vegetables and grits in a delicious sauce. We've gone here many times with a variety of people and we have heard the burger, beet reuben, chicken sandwich and chicken parmesan are wonderful as well. We just love the Blackened Chicken Salad and the Shrimp and Grits so much we haven't ventured further. The atmosphere is very nice, especially out on the patio facing the golf course. They've done a great job of protecting guests from direct sun! The inside, while not fancy, is quiet and very comfortable. Love this place!! ”
“ Great atmosphere. Beautiful patio next to a golf course. Friendly, competent staff. Good food. What's not to love? ”
“ Molly was so friendly and took the time to explain the highlights of the menu. She also gave great advice for newbies in Missoula. The food was great, but the service is what would bring us back! ”
“ Nice relaxing view of the first hole at the University of Montana Golf Course. They have craft beers and selections of southern classics like Etouffee, Po’ boys and more. I had the Shrimp and Grits and it was amazing! The service was very good with several people checking on us throughout our meal. ”
“ Significant other and i went here for the first time today and it was amazing! We started with the corn bread basket as well as fried okra. Both were delicious and the portions were large enough that we didn't finish them before the entrees arrived. Definitely a lot of appetizer for a great price! I had the Smokey Chicken Andouille Gumbo that was SO TASTY! My significant other had the Catfish Fingers (which we both found divine) that came with some of the best fries I've had in a long time. The portions of the entrees were quite large and awesomely priced. And one of the coolest attributes is that all of the produce is grown on-site! The service here is STELLAR (Mason rocks!!) and the atmosphere is super cozy. We sat outside and enjoyed quite a beautiful view. We are definitely going back! ”
“ My husband and I stopped in for lunch after trying to find a restaurant with a nice patio. The Iron Griz did not disappoint. The patio overlooks the University golf course and it's quite gorgeous. We had Jen as our server and she was super friendly and very helpful. She told us they try to source locally and a lot of their veggies come from the UM garden. We ordered a couple of beers and some fresh straight out-of-the-fryer chips, with truffle salt. Wow, they were tasty. I ordered the taco trio and my hubby ordered the Griz burger --it had an egg on it, how cool is that!?! It was good, but he said he would add another patty next time to make it even better. The tacos were tasty, but I think I would like to try something else from them because it all sounded so good. We got two desserts, the tear drop hazelnut cream brulee --it was just as yummy as it looked. I would say it tasted more like a mousse than a cream brulee, but that's just me. I could eat that every night. It was scrape-the-plate good!! We also got the fresh baked cookie. It was so cute in its little cast iron skillet. It was served with a scoop of Big Dipper vanilla ice cream on top. I think a bit of hot fudge would've had me swooning. We will definitely come back for more. ”
“ I had a really nice experience at this restaurant the 2 times we've dined here. They have a garden outside of the restaurant where they actually grow some of their vegetables, etc. They describe as uber local sourced, and this is a great description. I had quick and friendly service both times. The food was hearty and tasty. I will definitely go back. There are unique for the area menu choices. I also definitely enjoyed the scenery of the golf course, with the gorgeous trees, birds, and mountains that are on full view on the outside seating area. Watching the golfers play by, I think, is pretty cool, too. ”
“ We thoroughly enjoyed our Saturday brunch experience. I had the veggie breakfast burrito and I dont think I've ever had more fresh veggies at any eatery. You can tell they came straight from the garden and were chopped by hand. I wish I had grabbed our servers name because he was OUTSTANDING! Took 4 orders without writing anything down, including egg preferences, and got everything right. Fun personality and just a great guy all around. Made plans to join up with the same friends in a few weeks to keep the good times going! ”
